This policy explains the cookies and similar technologies StopwatchHQ uses, why, and how you can control them. See also our Privacy Policy.
What are cookies?
Cookies are small text files websites store in your browser. They are widely used to remember preferences, measure traffic and support advertising.
Categories we use
| Category | Purpose | Consent |
|---|---|---|
| Strictly necessary | None — the tools work without any cookies. | — |
| Preferences (localStorage) | Theme, pomodoro/interval settings, last-used durations, time-tracker entries — stored on your device only, never transmitted. | Always on; clear via browser settings |
| Analytics | Google Analytics 4 — aggregate page-visit measurement. | Blocked until consent (EEA/UK); else on |
| Advertising | Google AdSense and partners — ad delivery and frequency measurement. | Blocked until consent (EEA/UK); else on |
Your consent choices
Visitors from the EEA and the UK see a consent message (a Google-certified consent management platform) before analytics/advertising cookies are set. You can change your choice at any time via the “Cookie choices” link in the footer of every page.
Everywhere else, you can control or delete cookies through your browser settings. Blocking all cookies does not break any tool on this site — only saved preferences and (for some visitors) personalised ads are affected. Opt-out links for Google's ad personalisation: adssettings.google.com and optout.aboutads.info.
Do Not Track
We honour Global Privacy Control (GPC) / Do Not Track signals where the browser sends them for analytics personalisation settings, to the extent supported by our providers.
